Can I tell you how amazing my weekend was? It was AMAZING. Phenomenal. And it wasn't just because of the food or the shopping or the games or anything like that. It was because of who I spent it with. My sister Katie came and visited and we had the best time. We talked and talked and it was so good. So good for her and for me. Apparently her roommies are a little immature and she told me after our first long conversation that that was the most she had talked for any period of time the whole semester. Poor girl. We talked about boys and about missions and about her nannying (a family in Canada is looking very promising). It was great.
Some of the fun things we did were shopping, playing Peanuts (a card game), ate muddy buddies, and watched movies. Jed suggested we go downtown to see the lights on Temple Square and it was soooo cold but so stinking fun.
Jed and I did the Black Friday thing - on Thursday night. Sooo funny how it's not Black Friday anymore. Walmart staggered their deals so we were there for the 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. deals. We came away with cheap towels and bed sheets, lego blocks for Adam, a blu-ray player and a wireless printer. Oh yeah! We were back by 1:30 a.m. I prefer shopping my Black Friday Thursday night, ha ha. But granted, I was exhausted after having prepared our luscious Thanksgiving meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and apple pie. It was great, even if Adam did sleep through the whole meal. We had our friends the Snows over as well.
We also set up the Christmas Tree and all Adam wants to do is take off the ornaments. Stinker. My only regret was not having watched a single NCAA football game. Tear.
One of the best parts was the short visits we had with the Davis' who brought their cute little new baby Olivia. She is sweetie!! They were awesome and brought Katie down and took her back to Rexburg - it just worked out so perfectly!
All in all, it was a fabulous weekend leaving my heart full of many, many things to be grateful for: love of family, friends and most of all, my Savior and my God. I hope all you enjoyed the special holiday as well.
